Question: Do you own/collect variants of G1 toys from different countries? For example I recently got a Mexican IGA Hoist, which came with Trailbreaker's head. And my Optimus says "made in France". What are your thoughts on variants in general?

Look. I just want to put in my 2 cents on the tf prime discussion. I know I know... clip show. But what have shows like the simpsons and hell... even M*A*S*H ( I think... lol) told us in the past? Clip shows mean somethin BIG is coming. The fact they would cheat now after such a good run can only (I hope...!) mean one thing... the BIG GUNS are about to come out for the remainder of season 2. Since Prime has been drawing on aspects of the story from all variations of mythos what could this mean?! We saw unicron in season 1. I know at the time I felt that it was just brushed aside but now I feel like they wanted to get it out of the way to make room to bring another story to light... maybe mr hole was right in his headmaster speculation. Is prime about to die? Hell we know they aren't adverse to killing major characters... Where's shockwave been? We have seen him in most incarnations of transformers... will we see the comic route taken and maybe get the current decepticon leadership userpped? God I need to change my pants just thinking about it. Hell maybe nemesis japan will end up taking over new jersey...

Were you guys ever into Gobots when they first came out in the 80s? If so, would you like to see Hasbro/TakTom come up with a commemorative wave of Gobots using current TF figures? A few years back we got Fracture which was a redeco of Classics Mirage made to resemble Crasher. What Gobots figures would you like to see and what TF mold would you pick out for them? I'll start with Classics Ramjet with a new head-sculp redecoed into Leader-1.

Hello Gents,

Another great podcast, keep it up. I'm got a question::
If you could have your favorite transformer do a mortal kombat style fatality what would it be? Myself I like the idea of Bruticus picking up a victim and running them through the chopper blades on vortex akin to a food processor.

Also I was watching Revenge of the Fallen and reminded me of an episode here where someone asked why they couldn't have used the matrix on ironhide be bring him back after he was killed. Myself I think it might be due to him not being a prime. After all Optimus was brought back using the matrix, so was Sentinel, but that's my take on it.

After watching TF Primes latest episode I was shocked at how they could just kill off a character so quickly and not lead up to it or anything like that!!! My question is, although it was eventually going to happen because he wasnt a leading character from the begining, firstly do you think hes going to come back to life and seccondly what other characters do you think will get killed off and how!!! Oh and thirdly how do you feel about him being killed off!!!

I have seen something amazing and something that you guys have hopefully already talked about... The new Headrobot upgrades Darksol and Savant!!! And if you have'nt FOR SHAME!!! These thing looked so great that I jumped on to ebay and found myselfe a Skyhammer and am currently looking for a Mindwipe on FB!!! Anyway my question for you today is what headmasters would you like to se reinvented??? What current figures would you use and what would you add to it??? Would you take off parts like they did to Skyhammer with the removal of his helicopter blades or anything like that???

P.S I didnt know I had to ask you guys a question every week but as your NO.1 fan I will from now on!!! Also I was not offended by anything steriotypical you siad about Australians... but could you tone it down a little!!!

Good morning, Cybertronians!

When you guys were kids, was there a Transformer you wanted so badly but couldn't have at the time? When I was a kid there was a store that had a God Ginrai (or maybe a Powermaster Optimus Prime) on display but could never afford it. Whenever I'd visit that store I would gaze upon it dreaming of what it would be like to own it. Then one day it was gone; it now belonged to some other lucky kid. Fast forward 25 years later, my wife and I were browsing at a local comic shop and when I looked up at the display, there it was... a commemorative edition Powermaster Optimus Prime with Apex Armor MISB. Suddenly, I was a kid again. Except now, I carefully took it from its shelf and brought it to the counter. I handed over my credit card with a smile I just couldn't hide and left the comic shop with a sense of triumph. The kid inside me finally had his dream come true.

Good morning, Cybertronians!

One thing I've noticed about current TF figures is the lack of paint details. If more paint means more money for Hasbro to spend on their figures, what do you guys think if they were to return to sticker sheets instead? Repro-labels seem to have a great idea on their hands and Hasbro could easily include these stickers packaged with the figure.

ADDENDUM:Last week I sent a question on how you could tell if an Energon Optimus Prime came with a mouth or full mouthplate just by looking at the box. Well my order from eBay just arrived and am glad to say that I got the full faceplate version and it came in the red Powerlinx Battles box. I also checked shmax.com and the one they had with the full faceplate came in the black box!

After some more research, I came across an old discussion on the topic. If you check the bottom of the box and find a embedded number 42681 or higher, the probability of it being the full faceplate version is almost certainly guaranteed. Thing is, this number has also appeared in the black box maybe just before Hasbro changed it into the red box. The discussion also goes as far as to say that some people would actually go to stores and take a peek inside the boxes just to check if the one inside had the faceplate or they would purchase it and return it if it didn't have what they were looking for. However, one sure-fire way to get the full faceplate version is to purchase the Superlink Grand Convoy from TakaraTomy.

Anyway, this quest has ended for me as now I have both Optimus Primes with and without faceplates.

Good morning, Cybertronians!

With the current release of TF Prime figures, the dvd/blu-ray release and of course season 2 on the Hub, my interest in the Prime line has rekindled. However, I cringe at the prices they're going for at TRU. Luckily I have a couple of Targets where they're sold $5 to $10 cheaper for deluxes and voyagers respectively... and forget about All Stars Optimus Prime! No way is that thing worth $30 ($40 at TRU)! Prime Cyberverse legion figures are sold at $7 and commanders at $10! Plunk down another $10 and you've got a voyager!

My question is: have current TF prices put you guys off collecting them? I know I am but still do so anyway. What are your thoughts on spending more money on smaller figures?

PS Remember when leader class cost $40?

How can you tell if an Energon Optimus Prime comes with the mouth or full faceplate just by looking at the box? There are two variant boxes as far as I know - the black box and the red box. I purchased a MISB red box (powerlinx battles) from eBay believing that it's the full faceplate version. Am I correct?

What figures would you want to see made into a box set for the next Botcon? Since we only get characters retooled from existing molds, which figures would you want to see and from what mold would you pick out for them?

I would like a Battlestars: Return of Convoy box set which would include Star Convoy retooled from leader class Cybertron Optimus Prime, Grandus retooled from Cybertron Metroplex and Sky Garry retooled from Energon Wing Saber.

PS In a previous listener question I sent several episodes ago, I brought up the topic of what WFC figures would we want to see made into actual figures. Now that FOC figures are being made, that wish is now a reality!!

hey so chms has prototype pics out of ko maiden japan parts! Let me ask you all this...
I hear a lot of people say they hope someone will knock off such and such 3rd party item so said people can get it cheaper... how do you guys feel now that the kos are hitting closer to home? Sure they will be less expensive but is it worth it?
Daisuke has been handmaking these parts for a year or so now, if I'm not mistaken. He's a real word of mouth kind of business so do you think people will actually go for the kos? Seems to me like if you know who he is and you know the good work he has been cranking out that you would order 3 sets of these kos. One to piss on. One to shit on. One to kill with fire...
So here is the question in the question. 3rd party is basically ripping off or expanding on a hasbro product right? So a ko of a third party isn't much different in terms of theory...? If this wasn't a friend of the pod cast, the tf community, puppies, grandmas and boy scouts the world over would you be as mad?
Don't get me wrong. Daisuke is the bees knees in my humble opinion. I have a set of parts on the way.
I commented on the VTC group at facebook that on one hand I would be pissed but on the other I would be flattered that someone would feel the need to ko my stuff. Imitation is the highest compliment right? I got some flak for that one and not in the cyberverse kind.
Does this change the way you look at kos? Can we honestly look at all of our knock offs and say this is wrong because of who and what chms is copying? As opposed to this as I want to be, I don't know what leg I have to stand on considering I have an entire knock off shelf in front of me right now.
I'm running way over with this but I wanted to pitch this one out.
